AWE provides a cost-effective and powerful alternative to available commercial data visualisation, management and analysis platforms such as planning, operations support and optimisation tools out in the market today and in the future. Based on an open source architecture, AWE is available for customisation to every need and requirement of a network professional. The users do not need to be software developers or programmers to get their work done, rather AmanziTel provides AWEScript, a 'domain specific language' designed specifically for network professionals and engineers. In fact most current analysis modules in AWE are already written in AWEScript, and there is a wealth of sample code to copy and modify to get the job done.
